How We Met

January 9, 2007, we both started our Tuesday/Thursday Statistics class. I sat in the first seat on the row and he sat in the last seat. Well, the next class, new people came and took our seats and we HAD to seat right beside each other. I admit, I noticed him but I was just trying to get through the class because numbers were not my strength but little did I know, it was his and he had to tutor me. Meanwhile, I would take starburst and pretzels out of his book bag thinking he had no clue I was doing it. As we tutored, he asked me out often but I didn’t know what he saw in me because I went to class in pajamas almost every day. Even after class, we would take walks and I can remember me trying to flirt, so we walked by the pond and I asked, “Do minnows stay minnows or do they become big fish?” Not wanting to embarrass me, he just said, “They get big.” Then he asked me to meet him at his car, when I did, there were starburst and pretzels on the seat; he said, “Now you can stop taking mine out of my book bag.” A week later, we had our first date; April 19, 2007. Soon after, he asked if I would give him the pleasure of having my son and me in his life and it was history.

How We Got Engaged

It was New Year’s Eve 2013; we were having a dinner. He arrived a little late but everyone knew what was going on except me. For some reason, he wasn’t eating and I kept asking him if I could fix him something to eat but he continued to decline; I felt that this was strange because he loves to eat. When I finally came to my senses, everyone had cameras and phones out videoing us and I turned around, he was on one knee. All I could do was cry and laugh because I had no clue he was doing this. Then, my family and friends were shouting, “Answer him!” I stopped crying long enough to say, “Yes
